Parent Information
|
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Students in 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th grades will soon be asked to take a survey at school (Copies are attached below). The California Department of Education requires schools and districts to ask students about alcohol, tobacco, and other drug issues, as well as questions about school safety and the learning environment. Participation in the survey is voluntary on the part of the student. We hope you will give permission and encourage your child to participate so that his/her opinion and knowledge can be part of the information gleaned from the survey.
The survey is anonymous. No names or any other identifying information is connected to the answers except for the name of the school.
If you have questions, please contact Carol Sadoian at Pupil Services, 524-6521.

Parental Involvement in School |
Studies have indicated that children whose parents and/or other significant adults share in their formal education tend to do better in school. Some benefits that have been identified that measure parental involvement in education include:
- Higher grades and test scores
- Long term academic achievement
- Positive attitudes and behavior
- More successful programs
- More effective schools
All parents want their children to become successful, caring adults. Similarly, many parents want to be involved with the formal education of their children. Sometimes, however, they don't know where to start, when to find the time, or how to go about making positive connections with the school. At the most basic level, parents can begin encouraging the education of their children by showing that they truly value education themselves. |
PARENT INFORMATION HANDBOOK 2011-2012
Sanger Unified School District believes that parent involvement is a critical component in the growth, development, happiness and success of every student. Parents are encouraged to be an active participant in their child's education.
The Sanger Unified School District Parent Information Handbook is distributed to every parent on the first day of school. A copy is provided below for your convenience. |
